On December 21, 2001, Dr. Lori C. Johnson became the new owner of the Small Animal Practice at the former Lone Rock Veterinary Clinic, and changed the name to Lone Rock Veterinary Hospital. The name change reflects the full service capabilities of the present facility as well as future plans for expansion into a new hospital building.
Dr. Johnson has this message for her Friends and Clients:
“Dear Friends and Clients:
It is a great privilege to become the new owner of the Small Animal practice at Lone Rock Veterinary Clinic. I was the first veterinarian to work for the former owner, Dr. Kevin Dennison, and have been part of the Lone Rock legacy since the Spring of 1988. Of the 36 years that I have been practicing veterinary medicine, over 29 have been spent associated with Lone Rock. Lone Rock Veterinary Hospital, Inc. will be the new name of the Small Animal Practice.”
Lone Rock Veterinary Hospital will continue the long-standing tradition as a full-service veterinary facility that offers complete medical, surgical, and dental care, as well as acupuncture, Class IV Laser and massage therapy. We will now concentrate on small animals; cats and dogs, as well as birds, rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, pocket pets such as guinea pigs and hamsters, and other exotics. Behavior management and nutritional counseling are available as well as pet care supplies and pet diets. House calls are also available. Our early A.M. drop off hours are convenient for working families.

We refer all after-hours emergencies to your choice of several excellent emergency facilities in Denver. All of these facilities are a 30-40 minute drive for our clients and provide top notch, state-of-the-art veterinary care. They are also fully staffed by DVMs and Veterinary Technicians overnight, which is a service we would not be able to provide for our clients if we were to see after-hours emergencies (see below for further information on Emergency Services).

Dr. Johnson’s message continues:
“I am thrilled to be back at the practice caring for your pets (Very Important Family Members), renewing the many wonderful relationships that I previously had with you, as well as starting new ones with those of you that I have not yet met. I would like to share my mission statement with you:
To provide the highest quality veterinary care in a modern, well-equipped veterinary facility. To be recognized with the 285 community as a “Practice of Excellence” where compassionate client communication and education will complement our exceptional veterinary services.”
